Coal production at Bharinto coal mine in East Kalimantan, a new concession of thermal coal in Indonesia was postponed and will be started half a year later. According to Banpu Plc of Thailand, the supplier of Bharinto coal mine, the postponement is due to the delay in approval and license and coal output is expected to start in the middle of 2011. Bharinto mine is located adjacent to the south mining area of Trubaindo coal mine. The production of high quality thermal coal with low-ash, low-sulphur content and high calorific value (6700 kcal/kg on GAD) is expected. Coal production is estimated 4 million MT per year in full scale operation. Almost full volume of produced coal seems to be bound for export.
