Uflex expands to the US

Indian film supplier and flexible packaging converter Uflex is investing in the US. Its first phase of the US$180 million project will include a 8.7 m, 500 m/ minute biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film line and a complementary plasma-enhanced, high-barrier metalliser. Said to be one of the world's largest, the film line will produce 30,000 tonnes/year of film and is expected to come on stream by the end of 2012.
