In collaboration with partners Hummel-Formen and KVT Bielefeld, injection moulding machine manufacturer Engel now offers the "joinmelt" system to support hot gas welding directly in the mould. The system, for which a patent is pending, is claimed to promise considerable potential savings, especially in the automotive components industry, by integrating two manufacturing steps which were previously performed sequentially.
