KEMIE: Kinder Erleben Mit Ihren Eltern Chemie Didaktische Konzeption und Umsetzung eines langfristig angelegten Eltern-Kind-Projektes

KEMIE is a long-term project addressed to children from third to sixth grade and their parents in which the adults act as partners for their children in matters of experimenting and learning. The nine days of experimentation, which span from October to June, are based on a pedagogical concept which consists of three guidelines: scientifi c methods of thinking and operation, substance-structure-characteristics and connection to everyday life. The project takes place at an extracurricular location: the Alfried Krupp-Schulerlabor of the Ruhr- University in Bochum. This article presents model descriptions the pedagogical conception and focal points of a methodical spiral curriculum as well as fi rst results concerning the participants’ acceptance of the project.
