A Simple Method of Preventing Snapper Fallout during Syringe Liposuction

When performing syringe liposuction, I use the Tulip system with either Toomey 60-cc or Toomey 35-cc syringes. Although there are different types of locking systems to lock the plunger in place, my preference is the snapper device (Snapper; Byron Medical Inc., Tucson, Ariz.). The Snapper is inserted along the length of the plunger. When the plunger is withdrawn from the syringe barrel, a vacuum is created, enabling liposuction. The metal strip of the Snapper snaps out, locks on the edge of the barrel, and prevents the plunger from being drawn back (Fig. 1, above)
