York Timbers consolidates its market leadership position with the acquisition of Iliad Africa's timber wholesale business

South Africa's largest private sector solid wood processor, York Timbers ("York") has announced that it has acquired Iliad Africa's timber wholesale business for R45.5m in cash. Iliad's timber wholesale assets comprise of Germiston-based Thorpe Timber, a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of timber, and Cape Town-based Timber Preservation Services, which operates a timber value adding, treating and wholesale distribution business.
