The TWS soft-start fluid coupling accelerates smoothly belt conveyors in the most demanding and stringent materials handling and processing applications. The constant-fill fluid coupling transmits power up to 1500 kW and is perfectly engineered to offer excellent limitation of start-up torques as well as automatic adaptation of the maximum transmittable torque to the prevailing load. Start-up times of up to 45 seconds are possible. Voith Turbo coupling Product Manager, Hans Voshol, explains: "The TWS provides the lowest start-up factor of a constant-fill fluid coupling. For belt conveyors, the stresses on the belt during start-up are significantly reduced which translates to increased belt life, reduced downtime and improved safety".
