Advanced Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Bladder in a 16-Year-0ld Girl With Hinman Syndrome

Bladder cancer is extremely rare in childhood and adolescence. Reported tumors are typically of low grade and stage in otherwise healthy patients. Recurrences are infrequent and metastatic disease at the time of presentation is rare. Recently, published reports showed that patients with neurogenic bladders are at higher risk than the baseline population for developing bladder cancer. Characteristics include presentation at a younger age with variable and aggressive histology, advanced stage and a poor prognosis when compared to the general population. We present a rare case of invasive transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) in a 16-year-old girl with Hinman syndrome.
