We read with great interest the article titled "One Week of Nitrofurantoin Before Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Significantly Reduces Upper Tract Infection and Urosep-sis: A Prospective Controlled Study" by Bag et al. Their report is very informative, with some insight into the prevention of post percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) sepsis, nevertheless their modified sepsis diagnostic criteria are not precise and might be overly sensitive.
