The latest ROC price quoted to UKPF is 52.90 pounds/MWh. This is up on last month the same as it was last month when it was 52.65 pounds/MWh. August 7: European carbon prices have held at levels roughly similar to those reported tow weeks ago, holding above the 14 euros/t mark. Gas is the fuel of choice European markets open to fuel switching and has therefore reduced the demand for additional permit purchases from coal-fired generators seeking additional carbon allowances. However, oil prices are once again moving in a bullish direction and this appears to have negated any downwards pressure on carbon prices which the low gas price may have been asserting.
