Nuclear regulators consult on GDA process

The GDA was set up with the intention of improving clarity and certainty in the regulatory process for the regulation of a fleet of reactors to enable industry to make investments with improved confidence. The intention has always been for the GDA to be as complete as possible, but it has been accepted that there would inevitably be certain caveats if technical and safety issues are not completely resolved. The Regulators have issued and will continue to issue progress reports at key stages in the process so that potential investors can understand how the GDA is progressing. To aid transparency, these detail the information made available to the regulators and the issues that remain to be resolved.
