Creating of the State agency of Ukraine for investments and innovations proves the real instrument for the state investment policy implementation is finally being created. What are the main tasks of the Agency in the short run? Investment processes in Ukraine are developing in close interface with general economic development of the state. The latter keeps developing and therefore asking for further investments. By now, Ukrainian economy is a large-scale investment market. In the last 5 years, average annual growth of gross domes tic product came to 7.6 percent. Upturn of industrial production has recovered, earlier cooled off by unfavorable conjuncture of world metal market. High development tempos were fixed in machine building, which is a fundamental sector for renewal and facilitated development of other economic areas. Thereby, machine building added 9.1 percent in the first half of 2006 as compared to the corresponding period of 2005.
