If negotiations between a group of petroleum coke suppliers and PDVSA to correct shipping problems at terminals in Venezuela come to fruition, several million metric tonnes of petcoke that have been stored nearby could begin moving into the market fairly quickly, according to sources. Sources say Oxbow and Capex have offered proposals to fund needed improvements at ports, including ship-loading and conveyor issues that have been ongoing for some time. In return, the two companies would receive some volumes of petcoke.
