Norfolk Southern was pretty bold in indicating during its quarterly earnings call that exports from the Lamberts Point terminal could nearly double this year. The railroad knows opportunities could stream from the Big Wet down in Australia. During the call, NS Chief Marketing Officer Don Seale said Lamberts Point (Pier VI) at Hampton Roads could handle 30 million tons of coal this year, up from 15.6 million tons during 2010. One would presume the number includes some coastwise business NS has picked up this year - tons for Constellation Energy and Dominion.
