CURE hopes shippers' rail ills derailed in recent STB decision

Captive coal shippers across the U.S. are no doubt smiling in the wake of a recent decision by the Surface Transportation Board that brought rail rate relief and reparations to Western Fuels Association and Basin Electric Cooperative for coal deliveries from the Powder River Basin. There are similar cases to be heard, including a dispute between Florida's Seminole Electric and CSX. Rural Electric Cooperative of Arizona, Oklahoma Gas & Electric and DuPont Chemical are others with cases to be heard. All likely feel emboldened by the recent STB decision.
