摘要

Paul Forward, the coal industry analyst at Stifel, Nieolaus, made an interesting point in his latest weekly update on the state of the (coal) state. Well, he paid attention to data, which to me is roughly equivalent to having a tooth drilled with a blasting cap. According to U.S. International Trade Commission data for the first two months of 2008, U.S. coal exports were up 30 percent year over year to 9.1 million tons, driven by a 36 percent y/y increase in metallurgical coal exports, Forward noted. Coal imports in the same period were down nine percent y/y to 5.0 million tons.
