Since its birth in 1984, with just seven staff members,CR Plating of Coventry has grown to emply 18 people.When it first traded,the company operated two barrel zinc plating lines,using the cyanide zinc process;four years ago,a decision was made to change from cyanide zinc to an acid-based system of chemistry (a signifi-cyantly safer and more environ-mentally-friendly process).Now CR Plating has become one of the first metal finishers to gain ISO 14001.John Barker,lead assessor at BM TRADA Certification,explains why
