In the wake of a great master: Guido Pellizzari (1858-1938)

Guido Pellizzari (1858-1938) was the first of Hugo Schiff's (1834-1915) students to become university professors. Guido Pellizzari specialized in organic chemistry. The preparation of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives by baking a mixture of an amide and an acyl hydrazide is also referred to as the Pellizzari reaction. This reaction has been applied for the preparation of mono-substituted-, bi-substituted-, and tri-substituted 1,2,4-1H-triazoles.
