Unfortunately this opportunity is often not appreciated says David Powley of DNV Certification. Here he offers advice on how to get better value from your internal audit. The internal audit is a well-established feature of all management system standards and protocols for quality, environment, and safety and health (QESH). Certification body auditors would prefer to 'ride on the back' of the internal audit and assess how capable the organisation is of discovering its own non-conformities and improvement opportunities.
