US linerboard producers are starting to produce more roll pulp on their unbleached kraft linerboard machines mainly for export to Asia.Among the reasons for the increased interest in making roll pulp are soaring prices for unbleached kraft (UKP) market pulp, stronger demand from Chinese con-tainerboard producers, rising OCC prices, and the incentive provided by the black liquor tax credit for US linerboard mills to maximize production.
