U.S.and Canadian trade officials last week announced a framework for a softwood lumber agreement that would end almost four years of U.S.duties on Canadian imports.Details of the plan were still forthcoming as of Apr.28 but basically would cap Canada's share of the U.S.market at 34%,impose border measures on shipments,and return to Canadian companies up to 80% of deposits totaling about US4.7 billion.
