Integrateds propose 10% box hike to pass through us50/ton containerboard hike,but face strong resistance from buyers

Major North American integrated producers have begun to announce price increases of around 10% on corrugated boxes and 12% on sheets following this month's us50/price increase on linerboard and corrugating medium in the U.S.Georgia-Pacific,International Paper,Smurfit-Stone Container,and Norampac informed customers of the increases,with effective dates ranging from May 8 to May 22,industry contacts said.
