US containerboard producers push through $50 price increase, first in 2 1/2 years; now work on box increase

With signs of continuing tightness in the market, North American containerboard producers successfully implemented their announced S50/ton price increase in the USA on unbleached kraft linerboard and semichemical corrugating medium in September. It is the first price increase in 21/2 years in the US containerboard marketplace, according to PPI Pulp & Paper Week's survey.
