OCC to China stretches out fast to a big spread over US domestic mill prices; OP levels vary up and down

A rise in export pricing that continued throughout this week and may do so again next week failed to influence domestic pricing upwards for US mills as of today, and thus created some major price differences. Further, there also were a few big differences as well across US regions on office paper (OP) and old corrugated containers (OCC). Overall for US mills, prices rose on OCC and mixed paper in four of six regions, old newspapers (ONP) No. 8 mainly held, OP dropped $20 in three regions and increased in two, and pulp substitutes, other OP-related high grades, coated groundwood sections (CGS), and boxboard cuttings declined in most of the country.
