MWV a 'major merger candidate' with or without chemicals, says analyst

MeadWestvaco (MWV) is likely "the next major merger candidate" in the US paper/ packaging industry, Vertical Research Partners analyst Chip Dillon said in a research note following the company's 2013 financial report. Dillon on Jan. 29 raised MWV's share price target $4 to S41/share to reflect the "Elephant in the Room" or the at least a one-third probability of a merger, acquisition or sale.
