Various quality management systems (QMS) practices are adopted by organizations to achieve organizational performance. However, the benefits of implementing these QMS practices are always not uniformly enjoyed by all organizations. This implies that organizational performance is depending on the level of development of various dimensions of QMS practices. Hence, it is clear that there are different patterns of QMS in organizations. To study these patterns, it is empirically attempted to differentiate these firms based on the level of development of the dimensions of QMS practices. The relationship between the patterns observed and the organizational performance is also studied. The data collected from 225 international and local firms in the electronics industry in Hong Kong are used for the analysis.
