摘要

Brazil is one of the few megadiversity countries in the world but investigations of its flora has revealed only a little of the present phytochemical diversity. The new molecules discovered have substantial scientific, economic and social interest, and may contribute to the development of related disciplines, besides presenting potential industrial applications for the improvement of the health and the quality of life.
