Box makers are being pressed to accept higher costs

Corrugated box makers are not happy:Sales are growing,but the rate is slower than expected,which is maintaining downward pressure on salestags and keeping margins tight.Nearly 80% of all nondurable goods are shipped in corrugated containers.Yet,available statistics show the containerboard market actually started to cool last November so full-year box shipments rose by just under 3% while end 2004 stockpiles were 11% higher than a year earlier.
