New part numbers to be issued

A new study finds that more suppliers will create new part numbers for parts that comply with the European Union's Restriction on the Use of Hazardous Substances law.The study by electronics distributor Avnet and researcher Technology Forecasters reveals that 71% of suppliers say they will change part numbers for parts that are RoHS compliant.RoHS bans the use of lead and five other substances in electronics equipment beginning in July 2006.
