摘要

Potato produces more dry matter (47.6 kg/ha/day) and protein (3 kg/ha/day) than any other food crop (1) and therefore, requires higher amount of nutrients including nitrogen on per day basis. At places where high cropping intensity is followed, potatohas to be harvested before its maturity for economic considerations. Under such situations, whether nutrient requirement is reduced (particularly N) needs to be evaluated as this besides increasing efficiency will also be eco-friendly. Therefore, the objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the effect of reduced growth duration on economic optima of N application in potato.
