India's first biotech fund launched in Hyderabad

The Biotechnology Venture Fund (BVF), claimed to be the first of its kind in the country, was launched by APIDC - Venture Capital Ltd. (APIDC-VCL) in Hyderabad recently. APIDC-VCL is a joint venture between the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (APIDC) and Ventureast, which is a group of professionals who came together in 1994 to manage venture capital funds in India.
