Eighteen pure lines of tomato were crossed with two testers. The resulting thirty six F, hybrids along with twenty parents were tested for heterosis. The cross FT-5 x V-16 showed significant heterosis over better parent for number of fruits per cluster and number of fruits per plant. However, the cross 102 x 101 recorded the highest significant heterobeltiosis for fruit yield per plant followed by FT-5 x V-16 and 187 x V-16. Highest significant negative heterobeltiosis effects for days to first flowering was observed in BT-12-2-1 x V-16. Significant heterosis over better parent for fruit weight and total soluble solids was recorded in cross combination 187 x 101. Out of thirty six hybrid combinations, twenty two showed significant heterobeltiosis for plant height. However, the highest heterobeltiosis effect for harvest duration was observed in cross 1874 x 101. These crosses may be exploited for the development of superior hybrids of tomato.
