Guava is grown all over the Punjab. It is nutritive, tasty and useful fruit which is known for its quality and importance. It occupies an area of 8072 hectares with an annual production of 177.6 thousand tonnes. The fruit is highly nutritious and contains vitaminC,AandB(riboflavin). Guava fruit contains antioxidant and minerals (calcium, phosphorus and iron) and is known to help in controlling the blood pressure. It is attacked by many insect pests and diseases which result in losses if not controlled properly.
