DRIP irrigation represents one of the fastest expanding technologies in modern irrigated agriculture with a great potential of achieving considerable water savings. In this method, water is applied through mechanical devices called emitters located atselected points along water delivery lines where water enters the soil. The precise application of water approaching the actual water requirement of the plant results in minimization of deep percolation, runoff and soil water evaporation losses. Almostall vegetable and fruit crops can be drip irrigated.
