Through seed production of flowers, growers can earn from Rs. 10,000 to 25,000 depending on the crop species and production cost. Thus the selection of flowers is of utmost importance keeping in view the profitability. Seed production of seasonal flowers is being undertaken by farmers on contractual basis with domestic as well as foreign seed companies on a large scale. The area under seed production is increasing during the last decade due to better returns in comparison to traditional crops. The seed harvesting in most of the flowers is being done manually from March to June in case of winter crops. Mostly winter season annuals have observed to be estimated that growers can earn from Rs. 10,000 to 25,000 depending on the crop species and production cost. Thus the selection of flowers is of utmost importance keeping in view the profitability.
