Tolypella canadensis (Charales, Charophyceae) in Asia: final evidence of its circumpolar distribution

A population of Tolypella canadensis Sawa was recently found in North-Eastern Siberia (Yakutia, Russia). An outline of its distribution range had been made according to all existing records. This species was previously found in the northern areas of North America and Europe. The new location in Asia is a final evidence of its circumpolar, arctic-alpine distribution.
