Kerala Cabinet clears minerals polity

The Kerala Cabinet has cleared the minerals policy, paving the way for private participation in establishing minerals-based industries in the State. The policy stipulates that land will not be leased out for mining of minerals alone, but only for setting up units for the manufacture of value-added products.
