Studies were conducted to assess the effect of seed treatment preparations consisting of one, 2 or 3 ingredients after one-, 2-, 3- and 4-year periods of storage on sowing usability of winter wheat and winter barley grains. The 3-year period of storage of barley seeds and the 4-year storage of wheat seeds significantly lowered the germination ability. The use of treatments containing carboxin + thiram and cyproconazole + fludioxonil, despite 3-year storage period, had a significant effect on improving the sowing usability of barley seeds. The use of triadimenol + imazalil + fuberidazole, however, had an adverse impact on the growth of barley seedlings and vigour index, noticeable already in the second year of storage. The treatment with tebuconazole significantly lowered vigour parameters of winter wheat seeds after a 3-year storage period.
