摘要

The paper describes types of data that make up the basic information on the use of pesticides and outlines the current state of information exchange in Poland. One of the major problems is lack of cooperation between the interested units. This, in turn, makes it difficult to access the current and cohesive data. It has been found that IT capabilities are not being fully utilized and a commonly available system of information use and exchange does not exist. It is necessary to introduce new solutions including, among others, automatic exchange of information on pesticides. The use of XML (Extensible Markup Language) would make it possible to advance the system of electronic data exchange. XML offers a standard of text and data representation that is easy to process and commonly acceptable. Information written in XML can be readily exchanged between various system platforms and applications over the Internet. The paper presents an example of information exchange model and describes the assumptions necessary for its creation..
