Fauna of epigeic spiders Araneae in orchards under different protection intensity.

In a study on the fauna of epigeic spiders in two apple orchards, under different protection intensity, a total of 1 590 specimens belonging to 12 families were captured. More spiders were observed in the orchard where no plant protection preparations were applied (Blanki). A larger species diversity (49 species) occurred in the orchard in egajny, which was grown in accordance with the IPO guidelines. In both orchards the most numerous was the family Lycosidae. It made up 75% of the spider population in Blanki and 46% in egajny. The second most numerous spider family in the two orchards was Linyphiidae (Blanki - 16% and egajny - 19%). An interesting fact was the occurrence in the orchard in egajny of Argenna subnigra (O.P. - Cambridge), a species that is rare in Poland.
