Weed control in maize by using herbicides with adjuvants and different technologies of weeding.

Field experiments were conducted within several vegetation seasons to determine the influence of adjuvants applied with herbicides on weed control in maize. Different technologies of weeding were examined too. Herbicide mixtures with adjuvants were safe to maize plants. Adjuvant enhanced herbicides activity in weed control, especially against stubborn control weed species. Early pre- and postemergence herbicides application positively effected the growth and yield of maize plants. Those treatments were also safe to maize plants. In the years with specific weather conditions (eg. drought before and many days after treatment and late weeds germination) application of two treatments in different timing (e.g. pre-emergence herbicide and post emergence herbicide with addition of suitable adjuvant) can be good alternative to satisfactory weed control in maize.
