An optimal inventory policy for a two-warehouse inventory model with free-form time-dependent demand function and deteriorating items is developed. While the two-warehouse model with time-dependent demand developed by researchers are limited in their applicability due to unrealistic assumption of regenerated cycles of identical cycle length being treated as a decision variable, we seek to reconsider this problem under the environment of the continuous release rule. Special case analysis provides further findings that the model for non-deteriorating items can be deduced and that this two-warehouse model can he treated as a one-warehouse model when both warehouses are identical in all surroundings. A numerical example is used to illustrate the derived results.
