Images of Transition: the Ways of Death in Celtic Hispania

摘要

Having in mind that the knowledge of context is essential to the reading and interpretation of ancient images,this paper deals with unconventional iconographies displaying key elements of the funerary ideology amongthe peoples of Indo-European Hispania. Two main itineraries _C over water and by air _C which are not mutuallyexclusive, are considered in those transits to the Other World in a visual history that, by calling on ancestralmemory, help to construct new Romano-Celtic identities.
