Treatment of obesity.

The following four papers discussing treatment of obesity are reproduced: 'Understanding the aetiology of childhood obesity: implications for treatment' by J. Wardle, pp73-79; 'Lifestyle strategies for weight control: experience from the Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study' by J. Lindstrom, M. Peltonen, J. Tuomilehto, for the Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study, pp81-88; 'Helping individuals to help themselves' by L. Costain, H. Croker, pp89-96; and 'Weight management in primary care: how can it be made more effective?' by A. Maryon-Davis, pp97-103. The articles particularly suggest approaches to lifestyle changes, and supporting individuals in making and maintaining these changes. The last paper describes a proposed 'triple-tier' pathway for weight management.
