Description of the pupa of Aedes cretinus Edwards, a key to the pupae of the Albopictus subgroup, subgenus Stegomyia Theobald, genus Aedes Meigen, and characters to separate the European Stegomyia species (Diptera: Culicidae)

The description of the previously unknown pupa of A. cretinus and a key to the known pupae of the albopictus subgroup, scutellaris group, subgenus Stegomyia, genus Aedes are presented. The 3 species of subgenus Stegomyia, genus Aedes, which occur inEurope, are characterized.
