摘要

Every year I get inquiries about performance-challenged hydronic heating systems. Sometimes they arrive as an e-mail from a frustrated home-owner who's paid for a superior system and shivering when the mercury drops. Other times it's a phone call from a contractor who is getting hammered by the owner, and trying to quickly remedy the problem before things go really sour. My least-favorite inquiries come from attorneys representing plaintiffs as well as defendants when the situation has moved beyond the amicable resolution phase. Some of the folks sending these SOS messages launch into their own speculations on the cause of the problem. It's common to hear reasoning like this: Since the house isn't getting warm enough, the boiler(s) must be too small Although this seems logical to the average homeowner, inadequate boiler capacity is seldom the cause of inadequate heating.
