Take a moment to imagine living in a world in which you could trust no one who was not in your immediate family. You could not trust your local shopkeepers, your public utilities, your schools, your government, or your health care providers. Despite their best efforts to convince you otherwise, you house deep suspicion of everyone outside your own inner circle and, without question, you believe that they do not have your best interests at heart.
