When Tulsa's Southwest Companies set its sights on expansion, it didn't confine the search to its home state of Oklahoma. Instead, it reached further west to California to check out available jobshops. From this initial vision emerged a new addition to the family of Southwest Companies-Plasma Coating Corporation (PCC) in Gardena, CA, which was purchased in the fall of 1999. PCC's primary business is the development and application of thermal spray coatings-HVOF (high velocity oxy fuel), plasma, twin wire-arc, combustion powder and wire-to aircraft and aerospace parts. Additional coatings include paints, Teflon~R and dry film lubricants for the aerospace industry.
