摘要

Over the last few years, real-time reaction monitoring using remote-probe FTIR spectroscopy has been increasingly applied to polymerization reactions, including carbocationic polymerization of isobutylene and styrene, free radical polymerization of styrene, and ring-opening polymerization of D,L-lactide. This paper will describe our recent efforts to extend this analytical method to ring-opening polymerizations of lactone monomers. Degradable polyester materials based on these types of monomers have become strong candidates as replacements for traditional non-degradable thermoplastics.
