Recently, Ren et al. reported the stress relaxation behavior of polystyrene-b-polyimide (PS-b-PI) diblock copolymer/layered silicate nanocomposites, which exhibit more pseudo-solidlike behavior than pristine polymer. The ordering rate of the clay nanocomposites with polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene-r-butylene)-b-polystyrne (SEBS) triblock copolymer with a spherical morphology has been shown to increase with clay loading, whereas that of cylindrical SEBS/clay nanocomposites was not influenced with the addition of clay. Other groups also reported that the degree of intercalation of a polystyrene-b-polybutylene-b-polystyrene (SBS) triblock copolymer in its clay nanocomposites was dependent on the surface properties of organosilicates. Their measured storage moduli and complex viscosities we put our focus on the effect of layered silicate on the dynamic ordering process of cylindrical SEBS triblock copolymer/clay nanocomposites by using oscillatory shear rheometry and SAXS. In addition, we investigate the role of the clay on the thermal stability of these SEBS/clay nanocomposites using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
